How Do I know I am in Love ?

    It is one thing knowing about something and it is another knowing how it does happen.

 

A small boy once embarrassed a woman who came looking for the mother. The woman was pregnant and as soon as the small boy saw her, he said to the woman, you see how exposed you are, you thought you were doing it in secret but today you have been exposed. The woman was embarrassed, but the mother of the small boy was quick to say to the woman please sorry. We have told him that, when you lick your finger, your tommy will become big. This boy knows about big stomach but doesn't know how it comes about or even if he knew, it wasn’t in the case of the pregnant woman. 

Many at times we say we feel we are in Love but I must say, love is not just a feeling but rather a tangible thing. It is experienced and It is felt.

Love is such an important thing in life. Love is everything. We are all what we are because of Love. Love is everything, it can't be taken away from anything. 1 Corinthians 13:13 love is the greatest.

Your actions produces love and your level of actions produces the level of love you deserves. (Larry, 2017)

B.      What is Love?
Love is real and it is not invisible. Love is not just a feeling but rather a deliberate feeling.

C.      What is not Love?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

·       Singing my praise doesn't always mean Love

·       Seeking wellbeing with selfish motive

·       Giving all my worldly goods to you without love.

D.     Before you know that you are in Love, you must first of all:

Define what you will fall in Love with. We always see before we love. Example if you are asked why you love a particular person, endless reasons you will give, will all be things you have seen and experienced or yet to be experience.

E.      How Do I know I am in Love? (signs to show or suggest to you that you are in Love)

1.         You strongly see you share in his or her faith or belief. 2 Cor 6:14

2.         You always want to share with the person whatever you have. John 3:16

3.         You always want to hear the person talk or want to hear from the person. Or you want to be with the person.

4.         You see the person as one of your own, example you love his or her tribe, his or her physical appearance. Ruth 4:10 (Boaz ready to marry Ruth though she was a Moabite). Ruth 1:16

5.         He or she respect you and trust you until evidently proven otherwise. Matt 1:19 (Joseph wanted to divorce Mary secretly so Mary is not disgraced).

6.         You see in that person your mental picture of who your kind of man or woman should be: Phi 4:8

                                                             i.      Character

                                                           ii.      Attitude

                                                        iii.      Humility

                                                        iv.      Respect for people especially his or her immediate family.

7.         He or she is a person you are proud to be around.

8.         He or she is a person you can be comfortable with, express yourself freely without hiding anything.

9.         You are not afraid to share your weakness and strength with the person.  Because you are sure he or she will understand you and help you out. Heb 4:15

10.    He or she is someone you can call a friend. Prov 18:24. He or she possesses the qualities of who a true friend is.

F.         Conclusion
Read out 1 Corinthians 13:4-6
Falling in love with a man or woman is always not very advisable, knowing now that it is those physical evidences that promotes love. It is always better to walk into love or deliberately fall in Love, than to “fall into love”. Remember it is very easy to be hurt if you “fall into love” but less risky if you are to “walk into love”.

Marriage is just a continuation of your courtship relationship so therefore don’t expect anything too different when you marry the love of your life. (Larry, 2017).

Your heart is very precious and that don't be in a hurry to enter into something which has no return.

I pray that God should guide your heart and mind to know specifically when you have deliberately fallen in Love with the opposite sex. I declare your relationship will be good and your future marriage will always be perfect as you have always wanted it to be. Amen
