“Mukaase”

“Mukaase” is literally kitchen in my local dialect. As common as it seems, the “mukaase” is just ineffable to me.  You are probably aware that, that is where the good meals come from. For some, they are only ready to taste a well prepared food after their atmospheres are charged with its aroma. They have little or just ignore what went into the preparation of that sumptuous meal.

Such is life. We all need to spend quality time in the “mukaase”. We need to get prepared for what lies ahead. The preparation stage can never be replaced or even substituted.
We want to be successful, courteous, responsible, wealthy, influential and all that. But that serendipity will just go waste if we don’t spend time in the “mukaase”.
Yes, we’ve all entered the “mukaase” but how many of us have really had the patience of spending time there?  It is not surprising that some of us are not good at cooking.

Stage 1. #Preparation and taking opportunities#
Like in the kitchen, make good use of all the opportunities within your reach and sometimes beyond provided they’re not illicit. But before then, you need to prepare for these opportunities. Learn how to chop those onions even though they burn your eyes. Grind that pepper focusing on how you want it and not how they hurt your nose. In the end, you will have everything ready when the oil is hot.

Do what you have to do. Get yourself prepared. There is a saying that “when preparation meets opportunity, there is success”. As you await your results, why don’t you start a short course? As you await that admission letter, learn a trade. You might need it when the admission letter comes. Learn how to drive and get a drivers’ license as you await that job interview (You won’t know how important that can be until the need arises.)

Just do something. You can’t afford to waste that waiting period on *unnecessary* things. Use your smart phone. Facebook is free on most networks. Use is to your benefit. Learn how to braid on YouTube.  Search Google on how to develop your public speaking skill. There is so much to learn on social media. Not just passing ‘some’ comments for likes and followers.

As said earlier, when you are now prepared, you can now turn any epiphany into reality. Talking about opportunities, Life will not always present us with lemonade. Sometimes, we need to make room for our own opportunities.  Create the opportunities you desire.
You know how to design posters and flyers? Show it to the world. Upload it . Tell us how unique yours is. Share it on whatsapp .Go to the neighbour who is planning on getting married. Show them what you can do and give them a nice offer. Just a step can take you far.

My lady, stop waiting for a customer. Let your siblings be your first customers. Braid their hairs and let them do the advertisement for you. Put the bracelet you just made on ‘tonaton’ and get them sold.

But remember, it is not always about the money at the initial stages. Sometimes, your services should even be free…As difficult as it sounds, it will be worth it in the end……. To be continued.
