One thing I have learnt in the ‘Mukaase’ is to be patient and
not give up on yourself. The onions cannot be added to the oil until the oil is
hot. The ‘banku’ needs to be stirred gently until it is hard enough and the
rice will not be cooked in 5 minutes. You need to give it time.
That is not to say that you won’t check on the rice while it’s
on fire or keep an eye on the onions on fire. Keep stirring the ‘banku’. That
is called waiting in persistence.
Stage 2 : Waiting In
Persistence.
Sometimes, preparations might be ready but the opportunities
do not seem to come no matter how hard you try. Like in the ‘Mukaase’ you don’t
have to give up on yourself. Keep trying. Never get desperate or frustrated during
the waiting period.
Desperations will only lead you into avoidable regrets.
Instead, appreciate what you have become and keep pressing
on. Your complains won’t change much. Channel that anger, despair and
resentment into a positive energy to better yourself as you wait.
Be careful of distractions during the waiting period. Distractions
and noisy confusions from people may come. But losing focus is not an option. Rise
above the noise. Don’t be too comfortable with people tapping your back with praises.
Don’t be discouraged either from the criticisms. Maintain a strong, solid and
specific goal and the distractions will not eat you up.
Now that you are firmly grounded you need to keep going.
Better yourself. ‘’You will get run over
even if you are on the right track if you don’t keep going’’ Try to see if you
can harness some good from the waiting period and make use of it.
Everything is an opportunity when you decide to make it an opportunity.
Have faith, be courageous, feel your strength and resilience and keep persevering.
The waiting is just ephemeral. Opportunity will surely answer your call in due
time.
Remember, don’t get desperate or frustrated in the ‘Mukaase’
else, the banku will be full of lumps, the rice half cooked and the onions
burnt.
To be continued …….
